The Georgia Department of Corrections Offender Search (GA DOC offender search), Is a helpful tool for the public to find information about inmates currently in the state’s prison system. With this tool, You can access details like the inmate’s status, location, and expected release date.
Things Needed for Performing a Georgia Offender Database Search
You will need the following details to Search for an inmate in a county jail in Georgia:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Race
- The most recent correctional institution that houses the inmate
- GDC ID Case Number
How Do I Find an Inmate in Georgia?
- Go to the GDC official website.
- Then, select the “Offender Search” option from the homepage.
- On the “Find an Offender” page, Take a moment to read the website’s disclaimer and terms of usage. Click the ” Search Now” option.
- On the Find an Offender page, read the website’s disclaimer and terms of usage. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “I agree – Go to the Offender Query.”
- On the next page, You will get two types of searches. “Search by Name or Description” and “Search by ID or Case Number.”
- To search by name, enter the following requested inmate details,
- First and last names
- Gender
- Race
- Inmate’s age
- Most Recent Institution
- To Search by ID or Case Number, Select Identifier from the drop-down menu and enter the Inmate Case Number.
- Click “Submit Form” to do the inmate search.
After submitting the form, You will receive a list of offenders that match your search criteria. To view detailed information for a specific inmate, click on “View Offender Info” within the search results. This will provide you with the specific details related to the selected inmate.
Note: You can do a more comprehensive search by clicking on “More Options” in the “Search by Name” section.
Visitation Guidelines for GA Doc Inmate
The first step in the visitation process is to become an approved visitor. To do so, you must first fill out the Visitation Request Form and submitting a completed form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated.
Offenders are allowed to have up to four visitors at one time. All visits must be scheduled through the online portal. Once reviewed, you’ll receive an email to notify you that your visit request has been approved.

Apply for Georgia Inmate Privileges
Before requesting an appointment, you must apply to become an approved visitor at the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. To do so, you must:
- Download the Application for Visitation Privileges form.
- Complete the form.
- Submit it to the facility where your loved one is currently incarcerated.

Georgia Inmate Request a Scheduled Visit
Scheduling requests may be submitted from 5:00 am Monday through 5:00 pm Wednesday only for that week’s visitation.
- Family members will be allowed to schedule one (1) session for each day of visitation.
- Visits will be no more than two (2) hours in length.
- Four (4) approved visitors will be allowed and must visit at the same time.
- Children of all ages may attend visitation.
- All visitors must be on the offender’s approved visitation list.
- An email will be sent from [email protected] once your request for visitation has been approved.
- Offenders on quarantine or medical isolation status will not be allowed visits.
Arrival and Screening
When you arrive, Stay in your car in the assigned parking area. A GDC (department of Corrections Inmate Lookup) staff member will give each car a numbered tag. When it’s your turn, They will show your number, And then you can leave your car and go to the entrance. Keep your masks in your car, But if you want, You can use a mask provided by GDC. Only four people are allowed in the entrance at a time.
Inside, You’ll get a badge and a mask if you want one. You can only use masks given by GDC inside. Everyone visiting must fill out a form saying they’re not sick. They’ll also check your temperature; If it’s too high or if you’re not feeling well, You can’t visit. It’s important to follow these rules to keep everyone safe.
Safety and Sanitation
Visitation room capacity varies by facility but will be limited four (4) for each offender.
- Disposable face masks will be provided for those who choose to wear them.
- Hand sanitizer will be available.
- Vending machines will be open.
- Visitation photos will not be allowed.
- Only one (1) person is allowed in the restrooms at a time unless escorting a minor.
- Laminated numbers and visitor badges will be sanitized between use.
- The restrooms and visitation areas will be sanitized between each visitation session.

Georgia Inmate Visitation Hours
- Visitation normally occurs on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
- Appointments must be scheduled in advance through the GDConnect Portal (https://gdconnect.gdc.ga.gov/visitation/).
- Visits are typically in two-hour blocks.
- The cutoff time to request visitation for the week is Wednesday at 5:00 PM.

Securus Technologies allows Friends and family members to contact inmates in a Georgia jail. Contacting an offender in Georgia involves following specific procedures to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Securus Technologies – Inmate Telephone Service Provider
Friends and family members can set-up a pre-paid collect or direct bill account with Securus by going to the Securus Technologies website or by calling 1-800-844-6591. Multiple telephone numbers can be added to an individual pre-paid collect account.
Offenders can transfer money from their trust Georgia Department of Corrections Inmate Accounts to debit calling accounts with Securus in $1 increments to complete telephone calls. The debit calling rates are included in the table below.

Rules and Regulations for Inmate Calls
- Calls may be subject to monitoring and recording.
- Call forwarding and/or three-way calling is not permitted.
- The maximum time allowed per call is 15 minutes.
- Calls are restricted to only the telephone numbers included on the offenders’ Call Allow List.
How Do I Send Money to an Offender?
The Georgia Department of Corrections offers five different ways you can send money to a friend or family member currently incarcerated. Review the different ways and the steps included below.

Make a free Money Order voucher to print and mail. Please allow up to 2 weeks for mail And processing time. You have a few ways to send money to a family member or friend in a GDC facility.

Sending Packages to Offenders
The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) will allow Union Supply to receive orders for food item packages which will be delivered to inmates assigned to State Prisons*, Integrated Treatment Facilities, and Probation Detention Centers.
Approved Family and friends of inmates may participate in the Sending Packages to Offenders program by placing their orders with Union Supply in one of the following ways listed below.

Regulations and Limitations about Orders
- Order between October 2 and November 2, 2023
- No orders after the deadline
- $2.95 shipping fee for all orders (non-refundable)
- GDC spending limits:
- State Prisons* and ITFs: $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package (whichever is first)
- Probation Detention Centers: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package (whichever is first)
- Combine multiple orders into one package to meet spending limits
- Orders delivered to facilities by December 18, 2023
- Riverbend Private Prison uses Access Securepak until further notice.
